In the Comino Valley, the area delimited north by the Apennine chain of the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise and by the mountains of lower Ciociaria, the wine production, first of all the Cabernet of Atina, benefits from the presence of several noble grape varieties planted in the 19th century by the renowned Visocchi, whose fame and reputation has long extended beyond the local borders and achieved important goals both nationwide and internationally.
You will visit unusual settings, from small villages, deeply influenced by the neighboring region Abruzzo and full of ancient castle ruins, to the most fascinating and pristine naturalistic oases in central Italy. You will have plenty of opportunities to taste the cabernet d.o.c (i.e. Controlled Designation of Origin, the Italian indication of a superior wine) wine of Atina as well as to visit the wineries and pecorino cheese farms located in the Comino Valley while enjoying their exquisite products, always accompanied by the ancestral sound of the bagpipe, especially popular in the area.
